The Trucker: every trucker’s 1 bookmark

The Trucker is not your normal newspaper. For instance, while most classifieds are tucked in their own section in the back of the paper, The Trucker has the links to all of its classified sections right on the front page. In addition to “Used Trucks” and “Used Trailers,” you can find info on “Trucking Schools” and “Truck Accessories.” However, The Trucker does more than that, earning its tagline of “America’s Trucking Newspaper.”Each day, you’ll find new information on the issues that matter to the trucking industry and the men and women who drive it (pun intended), including updates on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), recent activities of the American Trucking Associations (ATA), bridge and road safety issues, and of course, rising gas prices. In one recent article, The Trucker reported (via the Associated Press) on New York Lt. Gov. Richard Ravitch’s claims that the system of bridges around the city were rapidly deteriorating. Ravitch recommended a “design-build” contract which makes the contractor responsible for both design and construction. This is meant to attract contractors with the lucrative promise of proposal development. The Trucker also does its own reporting, such as in its report on the FMCSA vetting process for trucking authorities.Truckers will find easy access to online job listings, industry regulations, and contact with the Trucker Staff. The Trucker is linked with GoTruckers.com, which bills itself as “one of the newest and largest online search boards for Truck Drivers.” In addition to applying for individual jobs, you can choose to send out your application to all available trucking companies, saving time on both ends.Target Media Partners Trucking Division is responsible for publishing The Trucker in both print and electronic formats. The company also publishes a number of magazines, including Truck Job Seeker, Trucking Job Guide, Trucker’s Connection, and the Interstate Directory. Despite the often solitary hours spent on the road as a truck driver, it’s important to stay in touch with the truck driving community and the issues that affect it. Reading The Trucker regularly is a great way to do that, while also getting an opportunity to find some great deals if you’re ever in need of a new vehicle, trailer, or supplies. You can check The Trucker out at thetrucker.com or at www.truckdrivermags.com (the home of Target Media Partners Trucking Division).
